REFLECTION
Experience:
This module was my first experience in learning how to visualize data and information. I am capable of quantifying the information as per the requirements, converting abstract information into specific data. This has enabled me to have a deeper understanding of the accuracy of the information. However, when filtering the data, I sometimes get stuck in indecision, not knowing which data can better highlight the core content, which results in a considerable amount of time being spent. When creating the Minimal animated infographic, I felt the charm of dynamic visualization and endeavored to make the animation effect align with the information transmission.
Observation:
In this class, I found that there were also different effects in the process of information transmission. Exercise 1 and 2 focus on converting information into quantifiable data. This approach makes the information more specific and intuitive, facilitating comparison and analysis. And by applying specific principles to organize the information, the logical structure of the information becomes more coherent. The infographic poster, as a static form of visualization, has a strong visual impact and is suitable for display in fixed settings. And the two animations both present information in a simple animation format. Compared to static posters, they can more effectively capture the audience's attention and highlight key points through simple dynamic effects.
Findings:
Through the learning and practice in this class, I have made some new discoveries.
The core of visualizing data and information lies in clearly and accurately conveying the information. No matter what form it takes, one should not ignore the essence of the information just to pursue visual effects.
Different visualization forms are suitable for different scenarios and types of information. And Infographic video animation is more suitable for telling complex stories and showing dynamic changes. In practical applications, one needs to choose the appropriate form according to specific requirements.
